| Not too long ago, Gary set the standard for cross-country race bikes by introducing the world to Sugar. Ride after ride and win after win, Sugar gradually turned steadfast skeptics into full-suspension fanatics. Developed to be fast, efficient, and lightweight, Sugar offered pro racers the | unimaginable: a suspension system that moved with the terrain, yet didn’t move when they pedaled. In other words, a pure, hardtail-like connection to trail without the hard edge. Today, Sugar and its full-suspension platform continue to dominate racing like no other cross-country racing bike. |

Giant.
Why?
Giant is the largest bicycle manufacturer in the world. Now that sounds impressive, but what does it matter if the products are so-so. Well, when you are the biggest you have more than enough resources to be the best. Giant has more research and development than most companies have employees. This translates into bicycles that are designed and manufactured under the most stringent quality control standards in the business. Giant not only makes the best selling bicycles in the world, but everything is done in-house. Giant designs, builds, assembles, and even packages everything under one roof. They build bikes ridden to World Championships not to mention the worlds number one road race team ONCE.
Across seven continents and fifty-odd countries, underneath thirty-two of the world's brightest professional cyclists, in over ten thousand retail outlets, and throughout the streets of the world's most populous nations, you'll find bicycles designed and built by Giant, 'The Global Bicycle Company'.
For nearly three decades, Giant has devoted itself to the growth of both cycling and cycling culture. Our contribution to cycling spans across transportation to recreation to competition. At Giant, we believe that the bicycle is more than just a machine. We believe that it is an integral component of society, a friend, and a way to explore the boundaries of your world. We're proud to know that we have contributed to a healthy lifestyle for millions of people all around the world.
Giant continually strives to bring new technologies to the cycling community. From its manufacturing processes to advanced performance designs, the Giant name is synonymous with technological innovation throughout the global bicycle industry. This dedication to constant improvement makes every Giant bicycle the best value with the highest quality available today. From the time the tubing is drawn to when the fully assembled bicycle is sitting on the showroom floor, Giant's quality control and customer service is second to none. And by utilizing its global resources, Giant improves its products for every aspect of the cycling community, from kids to recreational riders to racers. Giant is not satisfied with being the biggest bicycle company in the world. We also want to be the best bicycle company, and we will continue to make every effort to fulfill that vision.
As the world's leading producer of bicycles, Giant owns and operates four manufacturing facilities in Taiwan, China, and Europe. Giant's impressive manufacturing experience and advanced manufacturing processes and technology have resulted in extremely efficient bicycle production with the highest standard of quality control.
Giant's specialization in design, development and manufacturing makes it the leading choice of original equipment manufacturers (OEM). Giant currently manufactures bicycles for many of the world's top brands, accounting for approximately thirty percent of Giant's total manufacturing capacity.
Giant's proprietary manufacturing system, known as the Giant Production System, uses state-of-the-art machinery and computer-enhanced management. This produces the quality of a custom built bike with the efficiency of a large scale manufacturing facility. It's no wonder that Giant produces more bicycles than any other manufacturer in the world. This manufacturing prowess means that you get the best value and quality, no matter what kind of Giant bicycle you buy.
To support the growing demand from Giant's manufacturing customers and consumers, Giant has made strategic investments in additional manufacturing facilities over the past few years. Most recently, Giant invested in a new 11,520 sq. meter facility in Europe to better serve the growing European market. Giant has one of the most experienced work forces in the bicycle industry and one of the lowest turnover rates. Employees at Giant are energetic, assertive and professional. As a multi-national corporation, Giant has a rich cultural diversity and provides an extremely challenging work environment. It is this environment that attracts many of the industry's most talented individuals.
At the heart of Giant's bicycle designing and manufacturing philosophy is the 'Total Best Value' approach: A commitment to providing consumers with the best designed and best quality bicycles.
The Giant XtC NRS-1 epitomizes Giant's 'Total Best Value' approach to designing, building and selling bicycles. As recent winner of Mountain Biking magazine's 2001 'Bike of the Year', the XtC NRS-1 was acclaimed for its superior combination of quality, value and performance.
Giant pursues a unique and highly competitive combination of product value, function and innovation for each and every Giant bicycle. By focusing on this pursuit, Giant has been able to build a brand name recognized for its superior quality, customer commitment and genuine value.
Everything Giant puts into a bicycle--from frame design to components to paint finish--emphasizes a commitment to providing consumers with bicycles that offer a highly competitive combination of innovation, performance and value. And by striving--and succeeding--to provide consumers with a combination of features that exceeds that of other competitively priced bicycles, Giant has become the bicycle brand that offers true product value.
In the modest 15 years since Giant began overseas expansion, the Giant brand has generated amazing results in Asia, Europe, and North America. While firmly established as a leading brand in Germany and Holland, Giant also ranks as the number one imported brand in Japan, Australia, Canada, South Africa, Chile, Argentina and South East Asia. Globally, the Giant brand is already one of the most widely recognized bicycle brands.
Since 1972 Giant has been devoted to the development of cycling and cycling culture. Today, Giant bicycles bring new and healthier lifestyles to customers around the globe. Giant is excited about the future of two-wheeled transportation and recreation. In addition to the traditional consumer bicycle market, Giant is looking at several new segments of cycling, including meeting the needs of the commuter and recreational cyclist.
On the forefront of this technology is the LaFree electric-assisted bicycle. Officially released in April 1999, LaFree has propelled Giant to the forefront of the global electric bicycle business. The LaFree is also enjoying success in Asia, as well as bicycle-friendly nations across Europe. The LaFree symbolizes Giant's commitment to the future of alternative transportation and a cleaner environment.
Giant is also currently developing other products designed to reach more people in every segment of the cycling population. This includes folding bikes, as well as the next step in versatility and style, the Prodigy Sport Utility Bike.
Giant bicycles are recognized globally for their extraordinary achievement in quality, value and performance. This achievement is the direct result of Giant's long-held commitment to designing and manufacturing bicycles that offer the best possible form and function at competitive prices.
As 'The Global Bicycle Company', Giant looks forward to the continual advancement of the bicycle through research and development, as it is guided by a corporate vision of becoming the world's best bicycle company
