The Bike Shop has become famous for its "Only $25!" tune-up. Most customers are shocked that we do so much for half the price of other shops. Our service includes:

adjust both brakes

adjust both derailleurs

adjust headset

adjust bottom bracket

true both wheels

adjust hub cones

lube drivetrain

air tires to correct pressure

We also offer complete overhauls for only $80. This includes stripping the bike to the frame and rebuilding with new bearings followed by the complete tune-up.

Truing wheels are $5 each everyday and all repairs are finished in 24 hours or less.

Our race team is made up of a group of friends who love to go out and have a fun weekend at the races. We participate in road, mountain, and cyclo-cross racing year round. If you want to start racing but don't know how to get going, we are there. This service is free to all our customers. Just ask. Bike Shops vs. Mail-order and the internet

O.K. Here is where we climb up on the soapbox for a moment.
Mail-order and internet sellers have an advantage over us and all local shops. They don't have to pay overhead (like rent and other expenses on a retail location) and so they can often save you a small amount on parts. But how much are you saving? You still have to pay shipping. You still have to get most of the parts installed at a shop, and believe me, we are more than happy to charge you for the installation of a part you bought somewhere else.
You wont get the kind of instant warranty when that part fails that you would had you bought it from your local shop.
But cost aside consider this, how would you have gotten interested in bicycles had there not been a local shop.

Would you have tried cycling as a hobby just because you were surfing the net? When the local bike shop goes under because all the cyclist have taken their business to the mail-order places, then cycling will die in your community. There will be no new cyclist in your town and your riding areas and rights will disappear with them.
Please, support your local shop. You may not think buying those new Disc brakes from Performance will make that much difference, but it absolutely does. If shops have to depend on your tube and cable needs alone, they will close up.

Don't use us to find out what size road or mountain shoes you need and then go home to surf for a cheaper pair. Its simply abusing our love for the sport and our support of you when you need that wheel trued TODAY.
All shops have customers who are die-hard loyalist. These are the riders who see something they want and come to us first. They ask our opinion of a product and how much it will cost if we get it for them. And they pay the small difference to buy it from us, even though they could get it over the net. Don't think for a moment that we aren't aware of this fact. These are the people we will break our back for. These are the customers we couldn't survive without. If you become one of these buyers, you will have a friend in the business who will go out of his way to make sure your bike is treated like a pros bike when you need adjustments or repairs. These are the customers we will call when we get an incredible closeout deal on that awesome carbon frame or fork. These people are the reason we are in this business.

From exotic lacing patterns to the lightest hoops in the business, we are masters of the art and ready to discuss any ideas you have about your next set of wheels. We can help you pick the proper hub and rim configuration for your riding or racing requirements.

The Bike Shop is the only shop in the area with professional certification from the nations best bicycle school... The East Coast Bicycle Academy. We are certified in all areas of repair, maintenance, and wheel building as well as being expertly trained on bike fit and sizing. These certifications are not easy or cheap, but they are important in being able to service our customers to the best of our ability.
